Wall calendar with vintage postcards depicting Jewish customs and everyday life.
The calendar includes candle-lighting times for Shabbat & holidays, as well as times for fasts for five cities – Warsaw, Cracow, Lodz, Wroclaw and Budapest.
Rabbi Shlomo ibn Gabirol, a great Jewish poet from Spain wrote: “Servants of the time are truly slaves, while servants of the Eternal One are truly free”. This calendar shows not only the time of this year but also the activities of the Rabbis whose works are eternal and do not depend on time. Those Rabbis lived and worked hundreds years ago but their works will last forever. The material life can change in time, place, conditions. The spiritual life, thoughts, ideas, the connection with God can change their forms but their content remain unchanged. Read the books by those Rabbis and then you will understand that your deeds will remain forever, one may say they have eternal life. You are not servants of the time, it is the time that is obedient to eternity and depends on your eternal souls.
